2nd Group Crit:

•    Practical work- the 9 square Instagram layout (prioritise making images first)

•    Influencers- Business tactics, powerful fandoms, involuntary celibates (negative cult vibes)

•    Kardashians

•    Content curation- collection and presentation

•    How can you make a feed that appeals to people?

•    Subliminal messages in images- what context you put photos in, exaggeration, celebrity photos, humour

•    Things we think are normal but aren’t, whats outside of the picture?

•    What don’t you see? Behind the scenes

•    What stories can I use

•    Clickbait

•    GIFs, flash between reality and the composed and edited image

•    Practical proposals for next week

•    Don’t go too deep into each subject (influencers, design etc.)

•    Early sketches and presentation boards/ contextual references for group crit

Questions to ask for interviews:

•    Ask Holly (currently working for an online marketing company in Barcelona)

•    Is there a particular technique your agency uses to be successful/gain followers on social media? Why do you think this is successful?

•    Do you believe that Instagram will continue to be very prominent within society and are you prepared for any changes?

•    Do you think that your social media page affects the overall success of the company you work for?

•    Do you encounter any issues from promoting on instagram?

•    How regularly do you post and why?

•    As a modelling agency, is an instagram presence good for finding models? If so why?

•    What opportunities has the agency gained from being on social media?

•    What audience does your instagram page target?

•    Do you use influencers and do you believe an online audience can easily be influenced?

•    What do you have to consider when creating/photographing content for instagram?

Sketchbook:

•    Life drawing: photograph area after taking a photo there then draw it

•    Or pretend to clear up ready for a photo and sketch it

•    Viewfinder of image frame with chaos around it

•    Examples: Plants to create an aesthetic with mess outside of viewfinder

•    Outfit photo with floordrobe outside of frame

•    Once pieces are finished make gifs alternating frames if the ‘filtered’ image to filtered image with the messy outside viewfinder
